In todays lesson we finished up on the filming and editing. We have completely finished now and are ready to show it to the class next thursday to get out final feedback. We have no spaces left to fill when it comes to editing and we have tried our hardest to work on the feedback we gained previously. I am incredibly pleased with the final result and I feel our hard work has paid off. Everything we could possibly do to try and improve we have tried.

Behind the Scenes - Tuesday
Today we decided to film as many scenes as possible to try and bring our filming to an end. We managed to film about three scenes, one of them being the key ending scene. I am very pleased with them, they haven't been edited yet but scrolling through on the camera they are looking good. I am very pleased with the ending also. We literally have one more scene to film and we can end the filming process and onto finishing the editing.

Editing
After we filmed on Tuesday we decided to take a head start on the editing process as it is incredibly time consuming. We had many issues today including the images being saved as CR2 files which weren't recognised by final cut pro. this made the editing process last even longer due to the fact they all had to be saved individually as JPEG's and with 300+ photos needing to be converted we lost a lot of time. Even though it took a while to finally edit these scenes we had filmed the results are worth it and we are all pleased with these individual scenes.

Editing and Filming
We had a very successful day of filming and editing. We found plenty of objects that we were able to use in our animation. We found an old turn table which we used and plenty of switches we could use to create more fun interesting scenes for the stop motion. After hours of filming we went back to school and edited it all in a fast amount of time.

Re-Filming car scene - 23/11/13
Today we took to re-filiming the car scene. After editing the first time we felt it needed tot be much more professional looking as the other one moved to fast and was incredibly shaky. This time we ensured the camera stayed still and that we moved the cars slower leaving it to look much smoother once edited. A reason as to why this is a key scene for us is the fact that we wish to bring Goodwins music video theory into our Music Video. One of the key conventions is intertextual referencing which is what our video was lacking. Since we have an indie band we wanted them to reflect on the coolness of being British we wanted to insert a reference which would be easily recognisable as it can be assumed people who listen to this style of music will be able to identify The Italian Job reference. In order to do this we decided to re-shoot the car scene and turn it into a mini car chase scene, using mini coopers to reference the italian job.
An issue we found we were having was with the models and how they were starting to fall apart considering how much we had to move them. They were originally put together with cocktail sticks but as a way we are going to over come this problem we plan on pulling them apart and building them up with wire leaving them much more flexible then before.

Filming
On Thursday we found a location with a drum kit and so we managed to film a couple of scenes.
We forgot the origonal camera we were working with and so we had to use another one which was better quality and a better focus so they animation once edited did look good but this could be a problem when it comes to putting the wholse sequence together as it will be a different resolution compared to the other scenes we have filmed.
We managed to film three different key scenes which is a plus meaning the day was successful.

Assigning roles
Locations
It was decided that my role in the group would be locations considering most of the scenes we have filmed have been at my house and to keep it consistent it would be best to carry on filming here. I have also been arranging the other places we can film as not all can be filmed where i live. As part of my job I have made sure we could film at another persons house who own a drum kit and also managed to find time to film in the music room when there have been no classes.

Inter-textual Reference - Italian Job
After the meeting with Leane we decided to make one of the scenes an inter textual reference with the Italian job. This will also help us apply our Goodwins theory. After filming I decided to get an opinion to see if you can tell and its obvious. What are your thoughts on this scene? What do you think it represents?
- I really like how the cars go in a line together, I think it looks really cool and neat. It reminds me of the Italian job even if the original didn't go across a fire place.

Schedule
This is our schedule to ensure that we get every bit that we need to film, filmed. This way nothing will get left out and all the footage will be under control.

Tuesday 19th November 2013
Today we had free lessons so we managed to film two important scenes in our music video and then go back to school and edit them. It was a successful day to say the least as we managed to get a lot of work done within about three/four hours.

How do we plan on applying Goodwins theory to our Music Video?
When story boarding we had to take into consideration how we would make sure Goodwin's theory had been applied.
There should be links between lyrics and visuals.
"You've got a nice car" - In rolls a collection of toy cars.
"Who's that guy just hanging at your pad" - Plasticine men in a dolls house.
"I really love you hair do yeah" - Girls hair grows.
Music genres have their own style and iconography
Indie:
Live band performance
Narrative
Creativity/Arty Feel
Minimal coloured clothing
Demands and close up shots
During live performance
Inter textual referencing
